In the United States, Native Americans (also known as American Indians, Amerindians, Indigenous Americans or simply Indians; see §Terminology differences) are people descended from the pre-Columbian indigenous population of the land within the country's modern boundaries. These peoples were composed of numerous distinct tribes, bands, and ethnic groups, and many of these groups survive intact today as partially sovereign nations.

there is no such thing as "Mexican race" , my god , people are driving me crazy. Mexico settlement was founded by Iberians . Its a nationality not a race , Portuguese , Catalanian , Spanish , Mexican , Argentinian , most of Brazil , Peruvians they all partly Iberian (Latin) race.Btw Native Americans are Middle Asians haplogroup (Turks, Mongolians) which they migrated to America by frozen Bering sea in late Ice age through Europe . We dont know for sure if they encountered any race there or simply isolation mutation caused them to be a race but definetly we tracked them down to the Turks. And not suprisingly they have same Shamanist culture that Turks had , some Turkish tribes in middle asia still pagan you can see the same culture as native americans. And further information we all humans came from one ancestry from a women born in Ethiophia. Mother of all humankinds was born in that penninsula. I am not a black person , but we were all black. blue/green eyes , white skin color , blonde hair they are all product of human mutation.

Every single video that I have seen of someone with so-called Mexican ancestry, which as we know is almost always a mix of various ethnicities, the individual has some percentage of sub-Saharan African ancestry. I'm still trying to figure out when this widespread admixture occurred between Africans and the indigenous populations of Mexican. It had to have occurred sometime in History throughout the population. It's too common to be considered coincidental.

    • Sol Vega
      Sol Vega 1 month ago

Yes. In most of the results videos of Mexicans, the person has 1-5% subSaharan African ancestry. I too assume this ancestry is from the Subsaharan Africans that the Spanish took to Mexico and enslaved. I always expected to see Subsaharan African ancestry in the DNA of Dominicans and Puerto Ricans and even in some Cubans, but I didn't expect to see it also show up in very many Mexicans' DNA. These videos seem to prove that it does. The evidence in the video points to the conclusion that although in smaller percentages, many Mexicans also have traces of Subsaharan African ancestry in their DNA.

sub saharan africa? Ive noticed a lot that have Northern African but not sub saharan. I got 4% North african and im mexican. Im guessing i got that from my Spanish side since Spain was conquered by berbers for centuries. Another thing in the southern coastal areas of mexico you will find Afro Mexicans (Vera cruz Mexico was a famous slave trading post) Spaniards brought slaves to Mexico but not that much. Im assuming those that have sub saharan in them have it because of those african slaves

It's also a bit known in Jalisco but I've heard that one large family, whose last names where Magana, immigrated to Michoacan. Also, there's a village in Northwestern Spain called Magana which is very close to Portugal so it's people there may have a mixture of Portuguese as well. I've done my homework :)

My guess of your ethnicity is that your Hispanic...so European/Native American. Iberian Peninsula (Spain/Portugal). Since Iberian means "Land of the Iberu (Hebrews) then you may have some Jewish DNA. and because the Iberian peninsula was a colony of the Romans for 400+ years, there'll be Italo/Greek DNA. Since it was a colony of Muslims for 700 years, then N African, Middle East, or W Asian DNA. Your Native part will either be all Native or Native/E Asian.

Lindsey Muckenfuss I'm actually 45% Native American DNA tested and I do have Mexican Roots aka Latina. My husband was born and raised in Mexico his DNA results were 100% Native American and although he is from Mexico his family's first language was Otomi a dialect but they had to learn Spanish because of the colonization. But anyway yes there are a lot more countries in American continent than just the U.S. I think what makes people think that the U.S. is considered America is because it does have "of America" at the end but again there is the North American, Central, and South America. They are all the same thing American.

  • Joe Blow

I heard that the DNA diversity from the Americas is pretty small. It means that almost all Native Americans are related to each other. There were only 30 or so families that crossed over from Siberia so the DNA results will cover the entire American region. It's not until you get up towards Alaska/Canada that you start seeing "East Asia" in the mix and those tribes do look a lot more like the people on the other side of the Bering Strait. "Yupik"

Having a Spanish last name does not mean that your ancestry is from Spain. The indigenous people in Mexico (Aztecs, Yaquis, Incas, etc.) were given Spanish last names after they converted to Catholicism. A good amount of people in Mexico don't have Spanish blood despite having Spanish last names. In your case you do, but I just wanted to point it out.

    • Chris M
      Chris M 4 months ago

Barbara K Oh I'm so so so so sorry for not knowing all that. Thank you for informing all this. Really I didn't mean to be ignorant or dense like you said. Not, I already knew that. I'm not stupid obviously Mexico still have there indigenous people that are not mix with European. Obviously I was just referring to the Mestizos and castizos. But thank you 😊

    • Barbara K
      Barbara K 4 months ago

And yes, Chris, it is fairly obvious that Spanish people settled in Mexico. Most people are pretty aware of the Spanish inquisition to the New World. That does not mean that ALL Mexicans are mixed with European blood. It is also fairly obvious that the majority of Mexicans have "more Spanish blood than other Europeans bloodlines" since it was the Spanish who settled there, and not the British or German... Holy shit, how are you so dense?

    • Barbara K
      Barbara K 4 months ago

No, Chris, not ALL Mexicans have Spanish blood, EVEN if they have a Spanish last name. YES, the vast majority of Mexicans are mestizos (half European + half indigenous). Some are even castizos (75% European).. but their is still a very sizable amount of PURELY indigenous people that make up between 20%-30% of the population in Mexico. Just like many Jews in Spain were made to convert to Catholicism and had their Jewish names taken away, the indigenous people had to adopt Catholicism and take Spanish last names. Yes, they were very mixed, some having different amounts of European ancestry (castizos, mestizos, etc.) but like I said, a good amount were NOT mixed. Guess what? Black slaves were given white anglo names by their masters and some did not have any European ancestry. There were certainly black women who were raped and had mulattos, but the majority were still only black. That's why after the civil rights, many blacks changed their last names to "X" like Malcom X, because their anglo names represented colonialism and oppression and the stripping of their African identity. I personally know indigenous people from Mexico who still speak Nahuatl and have their own communities of people of Aztec descent. They are not COMPLETELY eradicated and mixed. My only point is that having a Spanish last name does NOT mean you have Spanish blood. THAT'S A FACT.

    • Chris M
      Chris M 4 months ago

Barbara K No it's actually the opposite. The majority of Mexicans living in Mexico Actually have More Spanish Blood then other European bloodlines. Yes Mexicans are a mix of European but most of that is Iberian. Remember that many spaniards settled in Mexico so it makes sense that they mixed with the natives. I know other Europeans like the French, Italians and etc settled in Mexico as well but not as much as the Spaniards. That's a fact.

    • Morbid World
      Morbid World 4 months ago

WRONG. Most Mexicans are at least 50% native. The first super power of the Americas was Teotihuacan. An empire that started in the valley of Mexico and at its prime stretch all the way down to Honduras and all the way up to Arizona. The Aztecs were originally a nomadic tribe from Utah and the Otomis, Chichimecas, and Yaquis were tribes that live in what is now northern Mexico AND the American southwest. This are the ancestors of Mexicans. So how are Mexicans "not" native?

+Deal Wolfstriked yes thats true there is white people with some native blood but its usually the ones in the south..but still it isnt that common as the white americans never liked to live close to the native americans. Its more common for a white americanto be mixed with black than native.

    • Deal Wolfstriked
      Deal Wolfstriked 4 months ago

While lots of Hispanics do have native blood quite a few of the white American videos I watched have native also, though its very diluted so they are pretty much white. The only whites that were fully white from what I have watched are northern Europeans. If you think that whites came to north America and did not have sex with the native women than your mistaken. Its just that the culture was more racist so the baby stayed with "its" people when in reality it was a half white half native baby. Its still going on today with example of Obama not being able to claim half white in the minds of most Americans. To most he is a black man.

Majority West Eurasian ancestry at like 60-75% (Europe and the Middle East). Within that, I guess you being 20% Iberian, 36% Italy/Greece, 9% Ireland, 5% Scandinavia, 2% European Jewish, 1% West Asia/Caucasus or Middle East.
Then, I imagine about 22% Native American, and 3% African.
