King Arthur: Legend of the Sword - Final Trailer [HD]

  • Charlie Hunnam stars in KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD, directed by Guy Ritchie - in theaters May 12, 2017.

Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne.

When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

Starring with Hunnam (FX’s “Sons of Anarchy”) and Oscar nominee Law (“Cold Mountain,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley”) are Astrid Bergès-Frisbey (“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”) as Mage; Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond,” “In America”) as Bedivere; Aidan Gillen (HBO’s “Game of Thrones”) as Goosefat Bill; and Eric Bana (“Star Trek”) as Arthur’s father, King Uther Pendragon.

Guy Ritchie (“The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” the “Sherlock Holmes” films) directed the film from a screenplay is by Joby Harold (“Awake”) and Guy Ritchie & Lionel Wigram, story by David Dobkin (“The Judge”) and Joby Harold. The film is produced by Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman (“A Beautiful Mind,” “I Am Legend”), Joby Harold, Tory Tunnell (“Awake,” “Holy Rollers”), and “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” and “Sherlock Holmes” producers Steve Clark-Hall, Guy Ritchie and Lionel Wigram. David Dobkin and Bruce Berman are executive producers.

Ritchie’s behind-the-scenes creative team included two-time Oscar-nominated director of photography John Mathieson (“Gladiator,” “The Phantom of the Opera”), Oscar-nominated production designer Gemma Jackson (“Finding Neverland”), editor James Herbert (“The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” “Edge of Tomorrow”), costume designer Annie Symons (Masterpiece Theater’s “Great Expectations”), makeup and hair designer Christine Blundell (“Mr. Turner,” the “Sherlock Holmes” films), and Oscar-nominated VFX Supervisor Nick Davis (“The Dark Knight”). The music is by Daniel Pemberton (“The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”).

Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, a Weed Road/Safehouse Pictures Production, a Ritchie/Wigram Production, a Guy Ritchie film, “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Slated for release on March 24, 2017, the film will be distributed in North America by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.

Action was average. Plot was average. With the Graphics and Sound. It was a little better than average. Nothing we haven't seen before. Just don't understand how many variations of English, Roman and Jewish history we can take from Hollywood. Same culture and characters with a twist but playing the same shit on repeat since the inception of motion pictures. As a fan of cinematography. I'm getting sick of it. I wonder how producers must feel to have to choose from such limited sources when making historical movies. The Vikings is something new and interesting with their folklore mythology and conquests. How about the Nomads and Central Steppes? That was a mix of both Caucasaid and Mongoloid invations that have been barely untold through cinematics. Their vestiges of conquest culture clothing armor weapons tactics gestures mannerisms animal husbandry would be definitely be cool on film. All the nomadic tribes from Turks, Indo European, Persians, Huns, Scythians, and Mongols tribes. The untold story of the Central Steppes. How about Hannibal? The Phoenicians? The Spaniards? Just something different other than Roman, English, or Jewish all the time.

Welp I made it about 2 minutes before the African pops up in medieval English armor. What a total joke. I'm so sick of this propaganda. Imagine if they cast a white guy as a Zulu warrior in a movie. Holy shit would people be losing their minds.

For an exclusive final trailer the editors should be a bit more careful. Kings were almighty alright, but sleeping with a sleeveless shirt and waking up with a t-shirt, i guess is a bit too much even for a king.

I must say I had low expectations for this movie but it surprised me how much I liked it. Had interesting cinematography, a fun and easily likable cast of characters, and a really engrossing soundtrack. My only complaint was that the plot was a bit predictable at times but none the less enjoyable and had good pacing. I recommend this. Glad I saw it instead of wonder women that's for sure.

Warner Brothers, I hope you are listening. This movie could have been an incredible success IF you had included Merlin, young Guinevere, Morgan le Fey, and some notable knights of the Round table...dragons instead of elephants. You spent enough money on this to have made this happen. The King Arthur epic NEEDS these essential elements to be a success. What you did is like having the Lord of the Rings sans Gandalf, the hobbits, Gimli, Legolas & the Balrog. How you expected this to launch a successful franchise, let alone be a successful single film is beyond any sane person.

how many king arthurs they make that cant make any money? this is a second flop in a row. talk about blowing money. nobody in states and around the world is interested in gothic days brit stories. they are in to comic and fiction these days. I am an exception but guy ritchie? he dont know crap about about brit heritage, its history. he is a specialist in urban films with little depth! he is more about style than substance. may be sam-mendes could have done a better job or even danny boyle. WB continues to lose money!

All the reviews are in... supposedly this is a fun movie. Not a great movie but still entertaining and well made. I feel bad for the studio as the trailers and advertisement campaign make it look like utter crap. I decided to re-watch the trailer and yeah, the modern music makes it feel cheap, the clips seem very random and confusing, overall just not put together well, which is really unfortunate. I'm going to try and catch it in the theater this weekend since it is likely gone soon after.

I have something to say, excuse me if i make some mistakes since English is not my main language.

Britain during the Anglo Saxon invasions (Around 500 AD. The Arthurian legend is based around this time) was a Celtic nation with a sizable minoirty of Germanic peoples. Why the hell did they included an East Asian???????. In all of Europe, only the Byzantine Empire had a non direct trade connection with China via the Silk Road using Middle Eastern empires as intermediaries. It would´ve been very unlikely to find an East Asian person in Early Medieval Europe, not even in the relatively cosmopolitan Constantinople which was the main gate between Western and Eastern cultures. A Black person in Anglo-Saxon Britain would´ve been very unlikely too but probably more plausible than an East Asian due to the use of Black African slaves by the Romans, but even though, pretty much all Romans left Britain after the Collapse of Rome in 410 AD and when the Saxons invaded, the Romans were virtually nonexistant in Britain. This makes the presence of a Romanized Black person very unlikely in Britain during this time. Britain in the 500-600 AD was not cosmopolitan at all. The only "multiculturalism" you would find is the presence of diferent Celtic and Germanic peoples like Picts, Scotti, Saxons, Anglos, Jutes, Britons, etc. And since all of these people were White, i don´t think that counts as "Diversity" in modern standards. This depiction of the Arthurian legend is just a modernized version designed to cater to modern liberals and all those people who demand diversity in movies. I can´t believe why people don´t complain just like they did with that God of Egypt movie. I support diversity in modern movies that are based on modern countries that are cosmopolitan like the US or Canada, but i hate this forced diversity into a movie that is set in an era when Britain was not like it is today. And i want the movie to reflect the Britain of that era, not the modern UK. And i say all of this without being British, nor White.
